I Heart Faces | “Anything But A Face”

I did a couples shoot a few months ago. After shooting for an hour of the traditional “lovey dovey” shots, I asked the clients to hold hands and turn their backs to the lens. This is what I came up with.

It’s been a few months since my last post. No excuses, just a bunch of explanations that I won’t get into.

Read this in my inbox today and wanted to share it. I couldn’t help but smile as I got to the end of the note - it reminded me that you and I are so similar. So much so that if we take two dozen steps back and look again, it’ll hard to tell the difference between us both. I agree, the circumstances are often different and your path may not look anything like mine - but in the end of it all - well, let’s not get carried away. We’ll see when we get there.

One of the greatest things about finally reaching the “top of the mountain,” Holy - gazing about at the magnificence of life through tears of joy, thoroughly understanding every inch of your climb and its many unexpected setbacks, and grasping the dazzling perfection of it all - is looking back down at those still climbing (no, not what you’re thinking, there’s more…), still struggling, still lost and confused, and realizing with absolute certainty that they, too, will reach the top, in just a whisper of time.
